Middle School

a brand new Middle School Cooperative Drop-off Program for 2017/18   The educational journey takes a new turn, once students enter Middle School. Academics increase in difficulty during the middle school years and our preteens begin craving more interaction with peers. Grace and Glory desires to encourage, support and empower parents and students to break free from doubts and insecurities, and to embrace the freedom and joy hybrid home education can bring during the teen years. This season presents newfound independence and exciting new opportunities to experience MORE together as a school community!

Our Vision:  the Grace and Glory inclusive Middle School Program includes Wednesday co-op campus classes and additional monthly activities (Thursdays), geared specifically for older students to learn and socialize together. Co-op classes are held in a clean, safe, ministry environment, with seasoned leaders.
Students entering the Grace and Glory Middle School program must be able to read and write independently with confidence; they will be responsible to complete weekly homework assignments and put forth their very best efforts with projects, presentations and reports.

Subjects Covered:  keeping with our unique blend of Charlotte Mason methods with 21st Century Learning, we will offer the subjects of American History, Geography, Folklore/Folksongs, Hymn Study, Bible Study, Poetry, Art, Creative Writing/Writing Mechanics, Chemistry Science with Labs, Presentations, Projects/Reports, Logic and Show Teams for Middle School. Students must participate in all classes and shows. Parents will be responsible for teaching at home, the subjects of Math, Grammar and Physical Education.

Our Middle School Guidebook, will serve as a compass to help students and parents navigate their year of Grace and Glory assignments, at home and on campus. The required books we have selected for our Middle School program, must be purchased by the parents. We selected specific resources, based upon their Christian perspective, as well as features like:
†Single-author “Living Book” style
†Hands-on learning
†Applicable across multiple grade span

A typical day at Grace and Glory campus  classes, requires individual effort from every student as well as group cooperation. Cultivating close connections, your student is never lost in the crowd. Class sizes are purposefully kept small. Student work, behavior and participation is observed and assessed, and report cards will be issued. Middle School students will be graded on their homework, projects, assignments and conduct.

Parents are required to help a few times per year, by volunteering an hour of their time in Chemistry labs.
We will set up a rotating Chemistry Aide schedule.
